Referral Programme terms

These terms apply to everyone who joins the Saltra Referral Programme, run by Saltra, run by MA Systems and Automations. By joining, you agree to them. Commission is always subject to approval and to these terms.

1. Who can take part

• Anyone aged 18 or over who has joined through this page and has an active referral code.
• Saltra's founders and anyone working for Saltra can't earn commission.
• You can't refer yourself, or a business you own, run or work for.

2. What counts as a new referral

A referral qualifies only if the business:

• has agreed to be introduced to Saltra, or given you permission to share their details;
• isn't already a Saltra client, and isn't already in contact with us, for example through an earlier enquiry, a referral from someone else or another introduction;
• reached us through your referral form or your share link; and
• agrees a paid project with Saltra within 6 months of your referral, and pays for it.

3. Duplicate and competing referrals

A business can only be referred once. If more than one person refers the same business, the first valid referral on our records wins. If the business itself tells us someone else introduced them, or it is genuinely unclear who did, we'll look at the facts and make a fair decision, and tell the referrers involved. Commission is never split or paid twice for the same business unless we agree it in writing.

4. How commission is calculated

Commission is 10% of the eligible revenue Saltra actually receives from the referred business for the initial project the business agrees with Saltra. Eligible revenue excludes VAT, refunds and credits, and third-party costs we pass on, such as software and licences, domain names, advertising spend and specialist suppliers.

Only the initial project counts. If the same business later upgrades or extends its project, adds features or software, starts a new phase or pays ongoing fees such as hosting and monthly support, that revenue does not earn commission.

Example: eligible project revenue of £2,500 at 10% gives commission of £250. The rate that applies is the one published here on the day you submit the referral.

5. Approval and payment

• Commission becomes payable only once (a) the business's payment has reached Saltra and (b) we have approved the referral as qualifying under these terms.
• Where a project is paid in instalments, commission is earned proportionally as each eligible payment is received.
• We pay within 30 days of the business's payment reaching Saltra. If we are still checking the referral at that point, we pay within 30 days of approving it. Payment is by bank transfer to a UK account in your name. We'll ask for your bank details by email when your first payment is due; we never ask for them through this website.
• Craig Ross and Matthew Agnew review and approve every payment. Nothing is paid automatically.

6. Cancelled, refunded or unpaid projects

• No commission is due on money Saltra hasn't received. If a project is cancelled, commission applies only to eligible payments received and not refunded.
• If we refund a payment after paying commission on it, we may deduct that commission from your future commission or ask you to repay it.

7. Rejected referrals and fraud

We can reject a referral, withhold commission, reclaim commission paid, or deactivate a referral code if:

• the business didn't agree to be introduced, or the details are false or misleading;
• it is a self-referral, a duplicate, or the business was already a client or already in contact with us;
• the referral came from spam, unsolicited bulk messages, or claims about Saltra's prices, services or results that we haven't made; or
• we reasonably believe the programme is being abused, or these terms have been broken.

We'll tell you why if we reject a referral.

8. Promoting Saltra

You aren't an employee, agent or partner of Saltra and can't make promises or agreements on our behalf. If you recommend Saltra publicly, for example on social media or a website, make it clear that you may receive a reward for referrals.

9. Tax

Commission is paid without deducting tax. You are responsible for telling HMRC (or your local tax authority) about it and paying any tax due. If you are VAT-registered, please tell us before we pay you.

10. Changes

We may change these terms or end the programme at any time. Changes don't affect referrals you submitted before the change. If the programme ends, we'll still pay commission on qualifying referrals already submitted, under the terms that applied when you made them.

Privacy

How we handle personal information

Saltra, run by MA Systems and Automations is responsible for the information collected for the referral programme. This section adds to our main privacy policy.

If you join as a referrer

We collect your name and email address, and, if you choose, your business name, phone number and how you know Saltra. We record when you joined and which version of these terms you agreed to. We use this to give you a referral code, check referrals you submit, keep you updated and pay you commission. Our lawful basis is the agreement between us under these terms.

If you refer a business

You give us the contact's name, business name and email, and if you have them, their phone number, website, what they're struggling with and which services might interest them. Only share what's needed, and only with their agreement. Please don't include sensitive personal information.

We use these details to contact the business about Saltra's services and to track the referral. When we first get in touch we'll tell them who introduced them and where we got their details, and we won't contact them again if they ask us not to. Our lawful basis is our legitimate interest in following up an introduction the business agreed to.

Where it's kept and who can see it

Everything is stored in a private Google Sheet that only Saltra's founders can open. This website's server passes your answers to it and doesn't keep a copy. Google processes the sheet and our programme emails on our behalf, and Vercel, our host, processes your answers in transit. Referrers never see each other's details, and we only tell you whether your referral qualified and what commission you've earned, not details of the business's project.

How long we keep it

Referrals that don't lead to a paying customer are deleted six months after they were submitted. Records of commission paid are kept for as long as tax law requires, normally six years. Your membership details are kept while you are a member and deleted after that, unless we need them for those records.
